Good morning all,
Due to the holiday and other obligations, the board met a bit later this month. The minutes from that meeting have been uploaded to the website. There are a few announcements this month worthy of your time.
Lake Lurleen Ride/Cookout
This Saturday, October 1st, DCBC will be hosting a ride and cookout at Lake Lurleen State Park in cooperation with WAMBA. This event is open to everyone. Both Trek Tuscaloosa and VeloCity will bet set up at the event as well. There will be road bike and mountain bike group rides and then food afterwards. Check our facebook page for more information. Also, please RSVP to the party if you plan to attend. We need an accurate head count for purchasing food. We hope to see you there!
Gobblecross
Planning for Gobblecross is in full swing. As previously announced, it will be on 11/20 at the Horse Arena in Sokol Park North. Even if you dont wish to race, it is great fun as a spectator.
Gobblecross will also be the state championship event in the Gobblecross series. This should increase attendance from spectators and from participants.
We are still in need of sponsorships from businesses, so if you own a business or know someone who does, we encourage you to put them in contact with me about sponsorship opportunities. There are multiple tier options, and we still have the title sponsor available for anyone interested.
Board Positions for 2023
We have had some interest in board positions for next year. Just to reiterate the last newsletter, four board positions will be available for the next term to be voted on in December. If you are interested in filling any of these roles (President, President-Elect, Secretary, and Gravel and Mountain Bike Liason), please reach out to a board member!
I hope everyone is enjoying this cooler weather. If you have any questions, concerns, or input, please feel free to reach out!
