ABOUT US
Experience the exhilaration of the open road with us, the Druid City Bicycle Club! Founded in 2002, our community of cycling enthusiasts have been pedaling together as a non-profit organization, recognized by USA Cycling, and boasting a membership of over 100 cyclists and their families.
There’s nothing quite like our group rides, carving their way through the countryside, fostering camaraderie, and simply enjoying the journey. But we aren’t just about the ride. At the heart of DCBC, we’re deeply committed to making a difference in our community.
Join us for our two annual charity events – the Hot Hundred, a long-distance century ride across the University of Alabama campus and into the beautiful West Alabama countryside, and the Gobblecross, a high-energy heart-thumping cyclocross race. Each offers a unique opportunity to pedal for a purpose, as we channel our collective love for cycling into raising funds for those in need throughout our community.

CHARITY, SUPPORT, GIVING
We believe in the power of giving. At the Druid City Bicycle Club, we don’t just talk the talk – we pedal the path of support and charity, making a significant difference in our local community.
Beyond our staunch advocacy for cycling, we channel thousands of dollars annually to local charities and other noteworthy causes. We’re proud to have made recent contributions to a diverse array of organizations, including:
The Hank Poore Foundation, the Police Athletic League, the Romulus Volunteer Fire Department, Cornelius Chapel Baptist Church, Bethel Baptist Church, and ARC of Tuscaloosa – just to name a few!
We’re equally passionate about empowering the next generation of cyclists. Through our donations to youth cycling organizations like the Tuscaloosa Mountain Flyers and Little Bellas, we’re fostering the love of cycling in young hearts.
Our commitment to cycling extends across all its disciplines, both on and off-road. In close collaboration with the West Alabama Mountain Bike Association, we support trail building, bridge maintenance, and trail signage, ensuring everyone can enjoy mountain and gravel biking. Indeed, many of our DCBC members are ardent off-road cyclists themselves!
At DCBC, we’re not just cyclists; we’re responsible citizens. We’ve adopted roadways and regularly host cleanup days, enhancing safety for riders and improving the aesthetics of our local neighborhoods. Join us in making a difference – on and off the bike!

SAFETY AND NON-PROFIT
At the heart of the Druid City Bicycle Club is our status as a registered USA Cycling Club and a 501 c3 non-profit organization. For the safety and assurance of our members, we maintain a comprehensive liability insurance policy* that covers all registered members during our club rides.
Our mission as a non-profit extends beyond the simple joy of cycling. We aim to nurture the growth of cycling at the local, national, and international level. This commitment takes the form of bicycle safety education events and amateur cycling activities. We emphasize community awareness, cycling safety, and the promotion of both competitive and recreational cycling, all in the name of fitness and leisure.
If you’re inspired to further cycling advocacy through philanthropic contributions, estate planning, or even a one-time pledge, DCBC is equipped to facilitate a meaningful and impactful donation. We believe that every contribution, no matter the size, helps us move one pedal-stroke closer to our objectives.
